I am a professor in the Department Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at Macalester College in St Paul, MN.
I have a PhD in mathematics, but I also spent 6 years as a software developer in Silicon Valley. I really appreciate working in a joint department that incorporates perspectives (and trade-offs) from math, applied math, statistics, and computer science.
My research interests lie at the intersection of mathematics and computer science. I explore problems in probabilistic combinatorics, pursuit-evasion games, combinatorial optimization, network science and social choice theory.
I also play bass guitar, and own the world’s only Velvet Erdős painting (to my knowledge, anyway).
